According to the latest fel pro performance book the 1011-1 are for 65-85 motors with 0.041 compressed thickness, and say minimal brelinning(sp?) of aluminum, and the 1011-2 are for 85+ motors and 0.039" compressed thickness, I have the flepro 1011-1 and 1011-2 head gaskets and never cut them. Make sure you put them on with front facing up and facing towards the front. My temp runs at 180* all the time with no fluctuation.
